Are you grabbing life by the reins? Are you standing barefoot on the beach with a delicious glass of wine in your hands? What things can you be doing that make you feel vibrant and alive? Big or small, life-affirming acts that shout out to the world, “Heck ya! I’m on a Magic Carpet Ride today!” It can be whatever brings you joy or satisfaction: as simple as a hard work-out, a hot bowl of oatmeal to nourish your body, a breezy night under the stars with your friends, or it could mean a bountiful trip to the Sonoma wine country.

Joseph Campbell, author of The Power of Myth, once said, “People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances with our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive.”

How true are his words! And people travel from all over the world to come to Sonoma to “live like they mean it,” finding fun and good times while sipping on the best wines in Sonoma.

In the novel Home Sweet Sonoma, we introduce you to Gracie and Wyatt’s G&W red blend. A vintage they’ve been hand-crafting and sharing with family and friends for years. Of course, there is a plethora of wines to sample from this fertile and ripe region. As our main character, Kitty Taylor, once said of her first attempt at making wine, “Wine makes you hopeful.”
